Handi Handyman Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Handi Inc. handles information for the Handi Handyman mobile app.
Summary
Handi Handyman is designed as a local-first toolbox. Many tools, including calculators, reference charts, flashlight, level, pitch gauge, and measurement utilities, can work on device without creating a customer account. Premium AI features may send selected photos, text, and request details to the HandiHQ AI gateway and third-party AI providers so the requested AI result can be generated.
Information the app may process
- Photos and images: Images you choose or capture for AI Counter, Plant, Weed, and Grass ID, Plant or Lawn Diagnostic, or similar AI tools.
- Text you enter: Task descriptions, repair questions, checklist prompts, or other AI tool input.
- Measurement and tool data: Room scans, measurements, calculator values, exported reports, and saved local results.
- Purchase and entitlement information: Apple in-app purchase and subscription status used to unlock features, remove ads, restore purchases, and enforce AI usage limits.
- Usage and credit information: AI usage counts, feature requests, timestamps, and error information used to operate the service, prevent abuse, and control AI processing cost.
- Advertising information: Free users may see banner ads. The final ad provider may process device, usage, or advertising data according to its own privacy practices.
- Diagnostics: Crash, error, and performance information may be used to maintain and improve the app.
How information is used
- To provide app tools, calculations, scans, exports, and AI results.
- To verify purchases, restore purchases, unlock premium features, and remove ads when applicable.
- To enforce AI credit limits, safety rules, and abuse prevention.
- To improve reliability, troubleshoot errors, and maintain service security.
- To display advertising to free users if ads are enabled.
AI processing
When you use an AI feature, the app may send your selected image, typed request, feature type, and related context to the HandiHQ AI gateway. The gateway may forward that information to third-party AI providers, including OpenAI, to generate the requested result. Do not submit private, sensitive, confidential, medical, financial, or legally protected information to AI tools.
Local storage
Some settings, saved results, appearance choices, and exported files may be stored locally on your device. You can delete local app data by deleting the app, subject to normal iOS behavior and any files you exported elsewhere.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers needed to operate the app, including Apple for purchases, AI providers for premium AI features, hosting providers for the gateway, and ad providers if ads are enabled.
Children
Handi Handyman is not intended to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us.
Your choices
- You can avoid AI processing by not using AI features.
- You can use Restore Purchases to recover eligible purchases on a new device.
- You can remove ads by purchasing Remove Ads or by keeping AI Premium active.
- You can contact us about privacy questions or deletion requests at support@handihq.com.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
