SnekQ Privacy Policy
Draft for attorney review before release. SnekQ does not display ads and does not sell personal information.
Ordinary AI scans
Between one and five photos, available image metadata, and location information are transmitted over encrypted connections for temporary processing by the SnekQ backend and its AI service provider. SnekQ does not retain ordinary scan photos or ordinary AI reports on Handi Inc servers after processing. Temporary files are deleted after the response is completed and stale temporary files are removed by an automated cleanup task. The original photos and resulting encounter report are saved locally on the user’s device.
Location
SnekQ first uses embedded photo geotags when available and otherwise uses the device’s current location as a geographic-likelihood fallback. Current device location does not prove where an older, edited, messaged, screenshot, or downloaded photo was taken.
Inaccuracy reports
When a user confirms Report Inaccuracy, SnekQ retains the original submitted photos, complete AI report, photo metadata, photo and scan location data, current report-submission coordinates, app and device diagnostics, timestamps, model and database versions, file hashes, network request information, and related technical information for review, abuse prevention, and AI improvement. False, malicious, duplicate, prank, and unusable reports are deleted with their retained photos after administrator review. Legitimate reports may be retained in a controlled improvement dataset.
Minimal technical records
Short-lived hashed request fingerprints and limited hosting or security logs may be processed to enforce fair-use limits, secure the service, diagnose failures, and prevent automated abuse. Subscription transaction identifiers are verified with Apple; SnekQ stores only a one-way transaction hash and limited product and expiration information needed to avoid unnecessary repeat verification.
Local history and sharing
Encounter history, ordinary photos, reports, favorites, notes, collections, and memories are stored locally unless the user intentionally shares or reports an item. Social exports contain SnekQ branding but do not include precise coordinates by default.
